In April 2006, the renowned cultural institution al_mada held a three-day conerence in Arbil, northern Iraq, for Iraqi intellectuals from within and outside the country.
It was held under the auspices of the Ministry Of Culture and UNESCO. The Iraqi novelist, Ali Bader, who has been living in exile for many years, returned to Iraq on this occasion to ask himself and those present a crucial question about the rule of Iraqi intellectuals in society and their views on sectarianism.
